Background: Makoond joined Business Mauritius in 2015 as CEO. Previously, he served for over 20 years as Director of the Joint Economic Council, and as a Senior Economist at the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development. He co-chairs the Skills Working Group with the Ministries of Labour and Education and holds a BA Honours in Economics from the University of Bombay and MSc in Tourism Planning from the University of Surrey.
